We are seeking a talented Planner to work with us who is responsible for delivering the division/brand merchandise strategy for the Marketplace area through the development of the seasonal and yearly product and sales plans, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and allocation of products with a view to maximizing sales and gross margin.
What you’ll be doing?
Align with the Marketplace Team to define seasonal, annual and multi-year strategies that identify future opportunities, trends and produce competitive advantage and superior results.
Collaborate with the Marketplace, Trade and Merchandising teams to develop the merchandise planning strategy using data-driven input from historical trends, digital analytics, market conditions and supplier demands.
Implement the strategic merchandise business plan for Marketplace in partnership with the team to respond effectively to customer trends, digital metrics while achieving sales, margin and stock turn targets.
Lead the execution of the merchandise planning strategy through sound financial planning, OTB budgeting, forecasting, inventory allocation and procurement to optimize in-season inventory management.
Build collaborative relationships with the Marketplace Team, Trade and Merchandising to maintain seamless processes needed for effective product planning, procurement, replenishment, sell-through and markdowns across all assigned product groups.
Work closely with Own Bought Planners to discuss performance and review opportunity within Marketplace.
Provide analytical input to Finance to support business-forecasting process and identify areas to leverage for optimal cost control and profitability.
Deliver category/brand sales, gross margin and sell-through performance to budget.
Lead the development of financial plans that support the high-level assortment vision and financial objectives.
Evaluate market and digital metrics together with historical data and forward trends to forecast sales and develop assortment vision.
Review continuity to ensure assortments are within aging standards; take action on product outside of guidelines.
Analyze sales and inventory flow to determine specific category and product trends as well as consumer behaviors to build foundation for assortment and allocation strategies to create attractive offerings.
Identify fulfillment strategies to optimize inventory between channels.
Analyze assortment performance and recommend assortment reorders, edits and stock swaps with Brands.
Adjust future forecasts by channel as trends evolve within season, aligning with department financial targets.
Collaborate with buying counterparts in the presentation of OTB strategy to leverage opportunities and/or plan for resolution of problems.
Analyze in-season product performance, focused on channel demand; class/category performance, style performance, and major marketing performance.
Provide strategic guidance to Marketplace team on channel performance and assortment needs to influence future assortment plans.
Monitor and Identify sales and gross margin opportunities by channel and take appropriate action to maximize.
What we are looking for….
High School in any discipline followed by qualification in Business Management, Data Analytics or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years’ merchandise planning experience within a multi-channel retail organization.
Highly numerical, analytical and data driven with an ability to decipher highly complex reports and quantitative figures.
Strong financial modeling & analysis skills.
Experience in e-commerce trading and strong understanding of Online metrics.
Understanding of Marketplace model is preferred.
Advanced knowledge of Excel and MS office and financial analysis and planning tools.
Commercially minded problem-solver with proven track-record of delivering financial targets.
Ability to build and maintain productive cross-functional relationships to deliver business results.
Ability to negotiate and influence effectively.
Strong stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills.
Knowledge of retail business, luxury is a preference.
Proficiency in English with strong communication skills with a demonstrable ability to interact and influence at all levels within the organization.
Excellent problem solving, planning, analytical, and documentation skills.
Strong team player.
