Cyber Security Engineer III / ACAC / HBSS SME
SRC is continuing and expanding their support of the Navy’s Computer Network Defense (CND) program, on a 5 year delivery order through NIWC (Naval Information Warfare Center). The SRC team provides cutting-edge engineering, analysis, integration and life cycle sustainment support for the CND systems. The purpose of the Navy Computer Network Defense (CND) program is to augment CND capabilities and integrate them into the unique environments encountered by Navy forces. Navy CND is an integral part of the cyber defense posture, protecting the Navy’s component of the Global Information Grid (GIG) from exploitation and strongly linking to critical infrastructure protection. SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic requires resources to support training activities for the Information Technology for the 21st Century (IT-21), and OCONUS Navy Enterprise Network (ONENET) networks, to support network and cyber security.
As a member of the Sustainment Engineering team the candidate will be providing network security, installation, support, and system administration support for Computer Network Defense Systems (CNDS), on location in Manama, Bahrain. Candidate will provide support in the buildout, testing, installation, troubleshooting and maintenance support of CND equipment. SRC is looking for a motivated, adaptable individual with a background in Linux and Windows Administration, HBSS/ACAS experience, and a strong networking foundation. Candidate need to be willing and able to execute on mission critical operations in support of NIWC.
Candidates For This Position Must
Have experience in designing, maintaining and/or deploying HBSS or ACAS systems in a DoD environment
Have experience utilizing DISA STIGs to harden and secure Windows and Linux systems
Have design, testing and validation experience on DoD-deployed systems; specifically related to ACAS or HBSS systems
Experience with deployment and/or sustainment of HBSS or ACAS systems in large (15,000+) node
Have experience with the deployment and troubleshooting of VMWare
Have a solid understanding of current operating system security design best practices
Have experience with networking equipment to include both Cisco and Juniper devices/applications
Have experience in supporting security appliance solutions in support of secure application virtualization (Web Application Firewall, Reverse Web Proxy, SSL/TLS Break and Inspect, TLS Offloading)
Have design, testing and validation experience on DoD-deployed systems
Have experience and background on Program of Record (PORs)
Knowledge of CND ashore and afloat systems is a plus, experience helping other ships with issues and understanding of those systems is a plus
Knowledge of the RMF process is a plus
Be self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
Knowledge of systems engineering activities and process improvement approaches strongly desired
Minimum Skills & Requirements
Requires DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II certifications
Must have one of the following security certifications: GSEC, Security +, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP
An operating system or equivalent certification (Linux +, MCSA, or similar)
Eight (8) years of experience in relevant technical field to include: Technology Analysis and Assessment, Design Definition, Development of Systems Specification, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Integration, Test & Evaluation Criteria, and Logistics support of C5ISR requirements
This position requires a minimum of a Secret security clearance to start
Position requires candidate to be stationed in Manama — Bahrain covering CASREPs located there, primarily waterfront support

Must be a self-starter and must able to work independently
Must be proactive and identify areas for improvement, while managing and prioritizing primary tasking
Must have excellent communication skills, including verbal, oral, and written, as candidate will be interacting directly with the customer onboard ships on a regular basis independently
Experience with HBSS or ACAS systems, and a solid foundation of networking skills
