Job Overview

The role holder is responsible for developing company’s legal policy in the field of commercial contracts and agreements. The role holder is also responsible for advising and providing legal counsel on different Intellectual Property topics such as patents, trademarks & copyrights stc and its subsidiaries. The role holder is also responsible for develops advise and takes decisions pertaining to legal risk on a regular basis.
Managerial Responsibilities

Participates in the development and implementation of the Commercial Contracts plans, in line with the corporate objectives.

Directs and manages the Commercial Contracts Department mandates, providing leadership and facilitating work processes in order to achieve high performance standards.

Manages and controls change in the Commercial Contracts Department providing guidance and support, necessary for continuous improvement.

Ensures compliance with organizational policies, procedures and quality standards in the Commercial Contracts Department. Core Responsibilities

Develops the company’s legal policy in the field of commercial contracts and agreements

Advises on the inquiries made regarding commercial contracts and agreements and interpret disputed terms.

Ensures requirements (legal issues, achievements etc.) are reported and authorizes the incorporation of subsidiaries by approving all needed licenses/permits and registering the brand names for stc.

Advises and provide legal counsel on different Intellectual Property topics such as patents, trademarks & copyrights for STC and its subsidiaries

Ensures Standardization of terms and conditions for specific contracts and certain categories of expenditure

Participates in the committees concerned to check the offers and the measures of award of contracts
Settles disputes between stc and contractors and ensure maintaining the best of stc interest

Manages delivery of required legal Commercial related consultancies on activities and procedures required for the company business

Provides strategic advice and legal support to business units leaders based in KSA and other regions in complex matters in a manner that exceeds
simply the provision of legal services (e.g., advising on and being part of the commercial strategic decision-making process) and providing

creative and workable legal solutions in support of business growth.

Advises and takes decisions pertaining to legal risk on a regular basis.

Implements best practices in contracting and deal creations, including for example, undertaking legal audits, developing contracting and deal templates and providing required training.

Archives all developed and reviewed contracts People Management Responsibilities

Defines goals and key performance indicators for each member of the team and ensures effective application of the stc performance management process.

Directs planning and selection of manpower in the Commercial Contracts Department, in line with the business and operational plans.

Ensures high level of employee engagement and capability development by providing on-going feedback and coaching team members within the Commercial Contracts Department. Performs other responsibilities and tasks as directed by the General Manager – Commercial & Procurement Contracts in order to meet objectives
