As a key player in the region’s economic progress, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Wet Utilities Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary:

Team member of the Transportation & Infrastructure Planning Department and provide Civil Engineering discipline support to the ASDA P&D Sector Departments for the planning of various public and private infrastructure projects with an emphasis on the planning and design of drainage, potable water, sanitary sewers, reclaimed water, irrigation utilities. Resolve conflicts with utilities and grading and drainage design issues. Perform Civil Engineering reviews of improvement plans, contract specifications, construction estimates and engineering studies. Involvement in conceptual civil engineering design, master planning of utilities, street and highway design, pump station and culvert design, writing memorandums to management, and coordination of existing and new infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

Receive direction from the Transportation and Infrastructure Planning Manager in relation to specific objectives on assigned projects, with output reviewed against the scope of works. Frequent interfaces with stakeholders. Supervises and coordinates the activities of Senior and other Civil/Electrical/Wet Utilities Engineers and other assigned personnel.

Duties:

· Assist in the preparation of Utility (Sewer, Water, Storm drain) master planning in the creation of capital development projects and verifying the capacity of existing utility systems and establishing new ones.

· Provide Technical Review of A/E consultant studies, design drawings, specifications, and calculations for compliance with approved standards and criteria and good civil engineering practice; and coordinate the same with the work of other disciplines, stakeholders and service providers.

· Provide technical advice to other departments within ASDA including participation in meetings and workshops required.

· Prepare proposals for studies/design work including scope of work, design concepts, sketches and costs estimates for deliverables (Manhours, Plans, drawings, equipment, and etc.).

· Prepare and update technical specifications, guidelines, and standards in coordination with other entities.

· Provide technical assistance during pre-bid conferences, proposal evaluations, and post-award or other contract conferences.

· Process submittals A\E and address RFl’s.

· Assist in resolving clashes and conflicts between services.

· Perform field inspections and provide professional field support.

· Preparation and presentation of technical correspondence, reports, and studies.

· Functions as a technical expert in performing analyses in specialized areas.

· Reviews and provides guidance in problem areas, recommends solutions, alternatives, and improvements.

· Provide technical advice and guidance to Management on all aspects of Infrastructure planning and needed improvements or changes.

· Prepare written memorandums, technical reports and correspondence on infrastructure issues.

Basic Job Qualifications:

· A Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 12 years postgraduate professional experience and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in design of large scale industrial, commercial, and residential infrastructure projects.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

· A Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 12 years postgraduate professional experience and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in design of large scale industrial, commercial, and residential infrastructure projects.

· Previous experience of working in the Middle East and knowledge of Saudi utilities and roads design codes and regulations will be considered an advantage.

· Registration in Country of Origin in an Engineering Professional Association equivalent to US PE or UK Chartered Engineer status is essential.

· A proven record of technical and administrative ability in design management including the ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English is essential.

· Demonstrable experience in the application of North American and international codes and standards.

Specific experience requirements:

· Experience in Utilities network modelling/design with focus on water pressurized networks (potable, reclaimed, irrigation).

· Experience in reviewing design work at different stages from Conceptual to Construction Issue.

· Experience in sanitary sewers and ancillaries with focus on design and review, including Pumping Stations, and water tanks,

· Experience with drainage strategies/studies of large-scale areas is advantageous with focus on open channel hydraulic structures (channels, culverts etc.) and the application of Sustainable Design approach.

· Experience with water and wastewater treatment plants is considered advantageous, with focus on hydraulic design.

· Competent in the application of hydraulic modeling software including preparing and analyzing model data.

· Demonstrable experience in the use of industry standard hydraulic modeling applications including WaterCAD, SewerCAD and StormCAD.
