Accounting


Jobs at this level are responsible for supervising accounting activities including the preparation of financial statements, zakat & tax and complex accounting reports in a timely and accurate manner. Also, they are responsible for ensuring compliance of accounting activities within the respective work unit with applicable standards and regulations.

  • Ensure implementation of accounting policies and procedures and standardises reporting templates to ensure compliance with relevant procedural and legal requirements.
  • Ensure effective resolution of accounting issues and queries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Supervise accounting information and provides insights to support management decision – making.
  • Provide feedback for accounting process activities to increase their effectiveness and ensure timeliness and accuracy of accounting records.
  • Monitor, review and analyze all operating revenue, expenses & collection data which affect accounts receivable/ payable. Financial Reporting:
  • Supervise all routine and non-routine reports to ensure compliance with statutory and audit requirements.
  • Contribute in preparing and documenting monthly, quarterly and yearly reports of different stakeholders (subsidiaries, SVPs, STC) including financial statement disclosures on local GAAP.
  • Contribute in producing group consolidated financial statements in accordance with Accounting and CMA standards and regulations.
  • Reconcile various accounts and Account balances with the General Ledger and reviewing the compliance of depreciation charge of assets with the policy & procedures. Zakat & Tax:
  • Support in representing STC and its subsidiaries in front of DZIT, appeal committees and board for any objections and queries.
  • Maintain good understanding of applicable Zakat & Tax laws, regulations, double taxation affecting STC and its operations.
  • Support in ensuring and optimizing tax strategies for the benefit of the group in terms of meeting its financial objectives. Generic Role:
  • Coordinate across a number of work units within the specified area of work, to ensure efficient work flows and accurate outputs.
  • Manage projects and initiatives, as may be required by the reporting senior.
  • Ensure efficient accounting & financial control initiatives and ensures the communication and implementation of the same.
  • Ensure remedial actions and measures for course correction on unresolved escalations.
  • Liaise with other supervisors to build effective working relationships and identifies synergies.
  • Develop and supervises the respective team members, if needed, for undertaking higher responsibilities.
