Job Overview:

The vacant position requires a candidate to take ownership of the HSES Management Systems and support project / operations to deliver HSES goals. The role requires an individual that can drive a common and consistent risk based HSES culture, act with a considerable degree of autonomy, whilst maintaining a good relationship with stakeholders.

Candidates are expected to have at least twelve years’ HSES experience in energy industry.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, lead implementation of HSE-MS and ensure HSE-MS is compliant with corporate, legislative and client requirements. Regularly review improvement opportunities. Develop and review project HSES performance goals, objectives and targets including KPIs
  • Develop an integrated approach to HSES Risk Management process. Participate and provide inputs as required and ensure mitigating controls remain suitable and sufficient.
  • Monitor compliance with HSES regulatory and other applicable requirements and manage changes
  • Manage, monitor and advise project management team (PMT) on all matters related to HSES. Provide technical and commercial support during tendering stage.
  • Prepare HSES budget and ensure compliance
  • Engage in pre and post award contractor management process
  • Planning and execution of the internal and external HSES Audits and compliance assurance programs
  • Prepare and maintain action tracking registry including review of supporting evidence
  • Initiate training needs and analysis and provide support and guidance in the development and delivery of HSES training material
  • HSES resources and recruitment planning
  • Engage in professional development to lead HSES changes in technology and systems. Supervise HSES personnel to support their professional development through competency assurance programs.
  • Lead and direct incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Management level liaison with clients
  • Business travel as necessary to support project / operations requirements
  • Other duties connected with the Function, as directed

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications/Education and Experience:

  • Higher Diploma in relevant HSE related Engineering and /or Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH) or equivalent is essential
  • Member of IOSH (Minimum GRAD IOSH)
  • Minimum 15 year’s experience working on major ($1 billion+) EPCI offshore projects
  • Minimum 10 years HSE Management experience
  • Demonstratable experience in leading large multinational HSE teams
  • Trained and experienced ISO standards lead auditor (9001, 14001 or 45001)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Sharepoint) and other relevant online applications
  • Must have excellent interpersonal/communication skills
  • Excellent report writing skills

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Any professional/engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Membership of professional body such as IEMA or IIRSM
  • Six Sigma certified
  • Second language advantageous

Project / Area / Regional Specifics:

  • Previous experience with Saudi Aramco projects at senior level
  • English and Arabic speakers highly advantageous
  • Middle Eastern experience is essential
