Job Objective
The primary responsibility is to oversee and manage the Legal Affairs and Compliance Departments, providing leadership, strategic direction, and operational guidance. This entails structuring, negotiating, and offering counsel on a diverse range of legal, compliance, and business policies while adhering to the company’s Standards of Conduct.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the principal legal advisor to the Board of Directors, CEO, Vice Presidents, and key stakeholders, offering guidance on intricate legal matters.
- Provide direction to internal clients across regions, offering insights on legal, compliance, regulatory, risk management, and dispute resolution matters, spanning contracts, corporate governance, transactions, strategic initiatives, and interpretation of pertinent laws.
- Develop and implement guidelines, plans, and procedures for the Legal Affairs and Compliance Team, ensuring efficient delivery of legal services.
- Collaborate with the CEO to devise and execute organization-wide strategies in compliance with legal frameworks.
- Establish a targeted legal resolution system to efficiently address business-related issues.
- Collaborate with and support core business units in crafting, evaluating, and negotiating complex agreements.
- Offer strategic compliance direction to business segment leaders.
- Provide legal counsel for significant investigations into suspected misconduct.
- Educate stakeholders on legal concerns, policies, and protocols.
- Manage relationships with external law firms cost-effectively to support business needs.
- Contribute to the development of internal policies to manage risk and enhance efficiency.
- Review and endorse internal case reviews and investigations.
- Monitor and provide insights on litigation involving the company.
- Initiate measures for ongoing enhancement of the Legal Affairs & Compliance Division.
- Oversee company bylaws and ensure continuous improvement.
- Manage the fiscal aspects of the Legal Group budget.
Minimum Requirements
- Strictly Saudi National residing in Jeddah.
- Hold a BSc in Law; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Possess experience in Commercial Law.
- Have held a senior legal role within a service provider or contractor setting (e.g., construction, Facilities management, hospitality, catering, or engineering “Contracting” companies).
- Familiarity with advising C-Level and senior management.
- Previous experience in a large organization handling substantial contracts.
- Proficiency in both Local and International Law.
- Fluent in Arabic and English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Proactive with the ability to prioritize and perform under deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication, editing, and document preparation skills.
- Capable of making sound legal decisions and assessing business risks.
- Exhibit solid business judgment, adaptability, and flexibility to manage diverse matters.
- Demonstrate proactive problem-solving and risk mitigation abilities.
- Possess a positive attitude and drive to effect change.
- Understand the importance of swift responses to business and operational needs.
