Job Overview
The Business Development Director will be based in Saudi, Al Khobar and hold responsibility for maintaining the company’s continued growth pattern across SEA by forming and maintaining good business relationships in the region. This position will also contain elements of market analysis, in order to strategically identify and penetrate new and lucrative markets. BDM will be expected to utilize their existing network of contacts to expand the company’s regional Technology portfolio.
Duties of the Role
- Will work with various internal experts to develop a working knowledge of Lummus Technology technical and commercial offerings, including feasibility studies, scoping studies, Process Design Packages (PDP), Licenses, O&M Services, Confidentiality Agreements, and others
- Support Technology Sales Director for SEA to deliver the close relationships with clients.
- Carry out market research, analysis, and sales forecasting and gather competitive intelligence
- Coordinate marketing, proposal and negotiation efforts with Lummus personnel in international offices.
- Coordinate proposal risk analysis.
- Work internally across the functions of the organization to develop and gain approval for the negotiated position
- Develop and negotiate licensing and engineering agreements.
- Review and approve contract terms and conditions and coordinate with the legal and financial departments
- Maintain technology presentation overview.
- Serve as the commercial liaison between Lummus Technology and the prospective client / licensee. Make client presentations for technology sales. Accompany prospects to licensee’s plant visits.
- Work within the organization to ensure awarded projects are on-track including following project management activities as well as ensuring licensee payments are made as per contract
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Basic Qualifications And Requirement Guideline
- BSChE, BEChE with a minimum of 8 – 10+ years of experience in refining or petrochemical operation or process planning.
- 8+ years of technology experience, including working knowledge of a licensing business model and intellectual property considerations
- Previous experience in technology marketing/sales and contract negotiation in an international environment, especially Southeast Asia countries
- Experience in execution of large capital projects a plus.
- Strong communicator with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Interest in being knowledgeable in all technologies in Lummus licensing portfolio
- Strong in technical and commercial negotiation and have the customer base in Indonesia is a plus.
